The Razorwire held a distance and stood quietly at the other edge of “No Man’s Land…
I’d stare intently out of my prison cell’s window and daydream; I wondered where’d I go, who’d I’d be–if they ever set me free. I figured once I was out, life would come easy.
I was wrong, they let me out but, I wasn’t really freed; I had to jump on a ferret-wheels and churn my life away for basic needs. I don’t mind work. I actually enjoy it. But having to work for someone is dark and the opposite, of choosing to work.
Procuring basic needs nowadays is tough. The cost of living is high, and many of the people I know are working long hours, struggling, and barely scraping by. Others have quit and wait around for handouts as I did in prison.
Building sustainable homes can deliver us from the rigged economic schemes used to enslave us.
I’m still not free, but I know where I’m headed and who I am. I’m building sustainable homes, and I’m privileged to have family, friends, and acquaintances in my corner.
Earthling Ingenuity is hosting a series of workshops. I’ll be sharing valuable insight relating to our first Earthship-type sustainable home.
Gary Wee is an authority when it comes to building Earthen homes; he will be presenting our first workshop, and I hope people reading this will sign up and take advantage of the knowledge he is willing to share.
Gary has built homes throughout New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and Arizona. He’s used Adobe, Compressed Earth Blocks, Rammed Earth, and Insulated Concrete Forms. This workshop is strictly about Adobes and CEB’s.
I’ve managed to salvage an amazing life after spending approximately 20 years in prison. Via these workshops, I hope to introduce many of the beautiful, amazing people that have helped me along the way. They’re all committed to building constructive, sustainable communities.
Please join Gary and me this weekend and see what’s possible with something as simple as earth. Bring your water, an umbrella, chair, and friend, as I take this first step in uniting my amazing acquaintances. Feel free to share the Eventbrite link and message me if you have questions.

Can’t wait till tomorrow! Thank you, Raúl, for connecting all of us. You are literally and figuratively building community.
I met Raul while teaching the apprenticeship program when he was in my first class. There was something different about him. Bright, inquisitive, and commanding presence. Gifted writer, activist, and determined to change the world, and not let his past determine his future. We’ve worked together since.
Your awesome brother!!! Love what you are doing!! Love you!!❤️
